If you’ve ever tackled a home improvement project, you know it’s not as easy as it seems. So many things can go wrong along the way, and that’s just the reality of it.

Anyone who manages to get through a project without a few hiccups is seriously lucky. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case with these home improvement fails. Take a look, and try not to laugh too hard!

1. This ’50s Diner Vibe

Wow, I’m all for the ’50s diner vibe, but this takes it to a whole new level. Don’t you think? So much effort went into creating something that’s honestly… pretty useless.

2. This Shower Fail

They say, “Go for an accent wall. It’ll be fun,” right? Well, I’ve never seen one in a shower before, ha! And seriously, what’s going on with that shower curtain rod? How are you even supposed to bathe in there?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t a picture frame supposed to show the entire scene? So what kind of home decor is this? This idea just doesn’t make any sense to me.

4. This Matter Of Convenience

Oh my goodness, what is going on here? I’m not sure about you, but using this toilet would be super awkward, right? I mean, it’s convenient and all, but it’s just way too out of the box for me!

Did you know that beautifying your lawn can actually be an art form? Well, I think that concept totally flew over the head of the person who did this. Maybe they should tackle a project that’s a little less… creative.

Upcycling is great for the environment, right? Well, these folks certainly found a unique way to repurpose their old microwave. As you can see, they turned it into a mailbox! Hmm, we’ve got an unused microwave… decisions, decisions.

If you’ve ever dreamed of having a custom toilet, I really hope it’s not something like this. A toilet covered in stones? Definitely not the most comfortable choice for anyone’s bottom. No thanks, I think I’ll take my “business” elsewhere!

I’m not sure if these folks were going for a kitchen upgrade or trying to create a hidden storage room, but either way, I just can’t wrap my head around this one. I really hope they don’t have a dog or a child who could get stuck under that fridge!

They say “no man is an island,” but I beg to differ. It looks like someone tried to create one right here in this kitchen… and then just gave up. Honestly, I can’t make sense of what I’m seeing.

12. This Stuffed Pig Chair

I’m all for unique furniture, but I’m not sure how I feel about this stuffed pig chair. Is it actually comfortable to sit on? And honestly, would you even want to sit on it?

I’m not even sure if “home improvement” is the right term for this. These feel more like home reno disasters. Let’s just hope that when we get our own place, nothing like this ever happens!
